The AP Legislative Assembly Estimates Committee has expressed satisfaction over the services provided by TTD to Srivari devotees. Committee Chairman Jogeswara Rao opined that there has been a very positive change compared to the services provided in the past and present.
He reminded that improving the quality of services is a continuous process and praised the fact that special attention is being paid to cleanliness and sanitation. In a review held at Sri Padmavathi Guest House in Tirupati, the committee chairman and members made several suggestions.
They suggested that the digital media should be strengthened to convey the glory of Srivari to the new generation and regular announcements should be made in Tirumala on TTD services. It was suggested that the hymns of Swami and Govinda Namavali should be heard till 10 pm.
Committee member Venkata Suryanarayana Raju expressed his happiness that when he recently came to Tirumala to have darshan of Srivari and fell ill, he was provided quality treatment at Ashwini Hospital.
Responding to the members’ questions on the construction of dormitories, the Executive Officer said that new ones are being constructed in Tirumala in place of the old buildings in compliance with the High Court rules.
Responding to the payment of a caution deposit to devotees, he said that there were no other problems except for the delay in face recognition due to the fact that someone took a room in one’s name and someone else came during check-out. He explained the details of the emergency medical services provided to devotees in Vaikuntam-1 and 2 and the Srivani Trust.
When members questioned the manufacture and distribution of stone idols of Swami and Ammavari under the auspices of TTD, the EO said that idols within five feet in height will be provided free of cost to Hindu temples. Additional EO CH Venkaiah Chaudhary explained the TTD services by department through a powerpoint.
Committee members Bhuma Akhila Priya, Nimmaka Jayakrishna, Maddipati Venkataraju, Dr. Valmiki Parthasarathy, Pashim Sunilkumar, Eluru Sambasiva Rao, Varudu Kalyani and Penmatsa Varaha Venkatasurya Narayanaraju participated.
