Asaduddin Owaisi Critiques BRS Party Over Musi River Cleanup

Sunday, December 22, 2024

Telangana political landscape is witnessing a huge shift as the Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen, which was once under the influence of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi government, has been reported to have changed sides towards the Congress government. Once, MIM leaders didn’t dare to even criticize the BRS; however, now the very same leaders are talking in an open manner against it, and the latest person who has come to express his concern is MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

At a recent media conference, Owaisi said MIM has the critical information that would upset BRS leaders and also questioned how they are successful in making Musi River clean. He provocatively suggested past issues he may disclose against the BRS officials to bother them but reiterated to continue support to the restoration of the river if locals were not disturbed.

Owaisi also pointed out the MIM’s crucial role in the BRS’s success in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections and suggested that a change in 24 candidates could lead to another BRS victory.

Additionally, he responded to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s comments on promoting large families, noting that if he had made similar remarks, it would have led to backlash. Owaisi warned that redrawing constituency boundaries based on population could hurt southern states by diminishing their representation, questioning the logic of penalizing successful regions instead of rewarding them.

As these developments continue to take place, Owaisi’s remarks will further fuel debate in the Telangana political arena.
