AP Polls Results By June 4th Afternoon, Says EC

AP State Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena said results of most of the assembly constituencies will come out by 2 PM on June 4 and final results will be declared before 9 PM. He was speaking at a video conference held by EC Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Nitish Vyas from Delhi on arrangements for counting of votes.

The CEO said that out of the total 175 assembly constituencies in the state, the results will be declared in 111 constituencies within 20 rounds and in 61 constituencies within 21 to 24 rounds. Counting of votes will continue for more than 25 rounds in three constituencies.

He expressed the opinion that the counting of votes will be completed in 111 constituencies by 2 pm, in 61 constituencies by 4 pm and in the remaining 3 constituencies by 6 pm. Stating that it was unfortunate that incidents of violence took place in some districts after the polling, Meena said that tight security arrangements had been made in the respective districts for the day of counting of votes to avoid any untoward incident.

He said that along with the implementation of Section 144, senior officials have been appointed in sensitive areas. He said that he visited Palnadu district himself along with the DGP and inspected the conditions there. Meena revealed that he visited many districts of the state and examined the measures being taken for the counting of votes and the preservation of peace and security.

ADGP Bagchi said that measures have been taken without any untoward incident in the matter of peace and security in the state. He said that SPs and CPs of all the districts of the state have already been declassified.

As soon as the vote counting process is completed, the state officials have been directed to send the Form-21C and 21E related to the declaration of results by parliamentary constituency and assembly constituency to the ECI on the same day by flight.
