AP High Court slams police for not seizure of Tirumala Parakamani records in dollars theft

Monday, December 8, 2025

The AP High Court has once again expressed its anger at the AP Police. It made strong comments in the hearing held on Monday over the non-implementation of the previous orders given in the Parakamani dollars theft case.

The High Court, which had previously conducted an inquiry into the theft of Rs. 72,000 worth of US dollars from Tirumala Parakamani, ordered the CID DG to seize all the records related to the theft of Srivari cash in Tirumala Parakamani, registration of the case, and the settlement in the Lok Adalat and submit them in a sealed cover for further investigation.

However, it expressed anger in the latest hearing as those orders given 19th of last month were not implemented.  It strongly commented that the Police Department is sleeping and that it would be better to close the Police Department in the state. It questioned why it was not brought to its attention immediately and why it did not receive appropriate orders if there was no IG post in the CID?

The High Court expressed its anger that the police department and the DGP are cooperating with the accused to destroy evidence and manipulate evidence. It commented that they failed to seize key records in this case. It responded seriously that the entire case has been misrepresented and that there is no point in seizing the records now. Everything must have been manipulated already.

The High Court judge Justice Gannamaneni Ramakrishna Prasad adjourned the hearing of this case to the 17th of this month. A journalist who does not belong to Tirupati has filed a petition in the High Court seeking an investigation by the CID into the scam that took place in TTD Parakamani during the previous government’s tenure.

The petition stated that CV Ravikumar, an employee of Parakamani, had stolen a large amount of foreign dollars and gold. On April 29, 2023, Assistant Vigilance and Security Officer Y. Satish Kumar filed a complaint with the Tirumala Police. The police investigated and filed a charge sheet. However, unexpectedly, Satish Kumar, the complainant in this case, voluntarily entered into a settlement with the accused Ravikumar at the Lok Adalat on September 9, 2023.

After the complainant in this case, Assistant Vigilance and Security Officer Y. Satish Kumar, reached a settlement with the accused CV Ravikumar at the Lok Adalat, High Court Judge Justice Gannamaneni Ramakrishna Prasad suspended the settlement orders in the Lok Adalat and ordered the seizure of the records.
