AP High Court, Assembly Buildings concept Designs To Get Ready By Aug 8

The concept designs of the permanent AP High Court, Assembly and Secretariat towers in Amaravati will be finalized by August 8. Fosters is working with the contractors to finalize these. The government is taking steps with the aim of completing them within three years. 

The construction work of the crucial permanent High Court, Assembly and Secretariat towers in Amaravati has begun.

The designs for these were prepared by London-based Fosters during the previous TDP government. The tenders have now ended and the contractors have started the work.

Fosters recently held a workshop with contractors and consultants to finalize and submit the designs for the internal structures. In this, concept designs for the Assembly and High Court were finalized. Another delegation from the company will arrive on the 4th of next month.

They will finalize the designs for the Secretariat towers. The concept designs for the three structures will be finalized by August 8. Steps will be taken with the aim of completing these in three years. In a recent workshop, detailed designs for the High Court and Assembly buildings were worked out.

The CRDA officials have held several rounds of consultations with the High Court Registrar on the designs of court halls, judges’ chambers, etc. in the High Court, which will be built with seven floors.

Foster’s company discussed with the structural engineers and architects of the contracting companies how the spike pattern, parking, galleries, and lifts should be constructed in the Assembly building, which is being built on an area of 103.76 acres, and gave the final shape.

The Amaravati Government Complex, spread over 1,575 acres, will house the Legislative Assembly, Secretariat, High Court, Raj Bhavan, Chief Minister, MLAs, MLCs, judges. Residential complexes for All India Service officers and government employees will come up.

Designs are being prepared to make the AGC look beautiful with gardens and canals in the middle. Foster’s firm has designed the basic design for the AGC. The CRDA has called for an RFP to select a landscape architect to further refine the blue and green concept so that only water and greenery are visible.
