AP Govt. To Develop DATA city, Near Madhurawada As Another Hi-Tech City

The AP government has decided to develop a data city on 500 acres near Madhurawada in Visakhapatnam, on the lines of the Hi-Tech City in Hyderabad. It will provide space for companies to set up housing data centers and artificial intelligence (AI) hubs.

The government, which believes that there are wide opportunities in the fields of deep technology, AI and big data worldwide, has placed special focus on this data city to tap them. After coming to power, the NDA government has prioritized the development of the IT sector in Visakhapatnam.

The Data city will be developed in accordance with the ideas of IT Minister Nara Lokesh. The government will cooperate with Google in the development of the Data city to be set up on 80 acres in Visakhapatnam. An MoU has been signed for Google to cooperate in the use of artificial intelligence and providing skill development training to the youth.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is setting up an expansion project in Visakhapatnam. The government has temporarily allotted vacant land in Medha Towers to the company. It will start operations in 90 days. 30 acres have been allotted for the construction of a permanent office. Infosys is also considering several locations for setting up a new campus.

The government is in talks to bring Wipro, which is focused on expansion, to Visakhapatnam. Minister Lokesh met Cognizant CEO Ravikumar in Davos. The company is likely to come to Visakhapatnam soon.

Recently, Minister Lokesh met CEOs of several companies at the World Investment Summit in Davos. On this occasion, he explained the opportunities available in the IT sector in AP.

Swiss research institutes were invited to work with universities in the state for innovative innovations in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and deep tech. He asked the company to look into setting up an innovation hub and incubators for technology transfer.

Lokesh said that they are in talks to bring 100 of the world’s best companies to AP. He said that the idea is to provide employment to 5 lakh people through the IT sector. Lokesh proposed in meetings held with representatives of several IT companies that the first 500 companies to be set up in Andhra Pradesh would be given priority and land would be provided at a price that no one else in the country would offer.
