AP Government Decided To celebrate NTR’s Birth Anniversary As State Festival

The government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister of the combined Andhra Pradesh, late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on May 28th every year as a state festival throughout the state. On this occasion, Chief Secretary  K. Vijayanand paid tributes to the portrait of NTR by laying wreaths at the NTR portrait at the Secretariat.

Special Chief Secretary of the Services SS Rawat, Principal Secretary of the General Administration Mukesh Kumar Meena, Principal Secretary to the CM Ravichandra, Additional Director of Protocol Mohan Rao and other officials laid wreaths at the NTR portrait and paid tributes to the portrait.

Paying glorious tributes to the party founder NT Rama Rao at Kadapa Mahanadu, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that NTR is the only leader that the entire Telugu nation worships. He said that Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s birth anniversary is a festival day for the Telugu nation.

He said that history has never seen a single person excelling as a king in two fields. He explained that he has risen as an Everest in Telugu film history. He said that ethics, honesty and perseverance are NTR’s weapons. Chandrababu commented that he is a leader who does not let go of self-respect and self-esteem.

Former CM NT Rama Rao was not only a famous Telugu actor but also an exemplary figure in political life, said Chief Secretary  Vijayanand at AP Secretariat. He said that he had initiated many innovative programs for the welfare of the poor. He praised NTR for standing as a symbol of the self-respect of the Telugu people and for leaving an indelible mark on the Telugu film industry.

He further said that in memory of his invaluable services to the people through the political field, the state government has decided to celebrate his birth anniversary on May 28 every year as a state festival. As Chief Minister, NTR launched many pioneering welfare schemes such as social justice, decentralization, people-centric administration, and most importantly, construction of adjoining houses for all the poor, and rice for Rs 2 per kilo.

He said that NTR has made a lot of efforts in taking the pride of the Telugu nation to the national and international level.  Assembly Secretary General Suryadevara Prasanna Kumar participated in the birth anniversary celebrations held at the state assembly building to commemorate NTR’s birth anniversary and paid tributes by garlanding NTR’s portrait. He specially recalled the services rendered by NTR to the state, especially the services rendered for the welfare of the poor.
