Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav has made serious charges against opposition party YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), saying it is actively trying to scuttle the economic growth of the state by sabotaging potential investment. He says the party is conducting a systematic campaign to disrupt the progress achieved under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
In the last year, the AP government has concentrated on getting investments both domestic and foreign with a major focus on industrial growth, employment generation, and overall economic stability. A range of investor-friendly policies have been unveiled to attract investors and make Andhra Pradesh a destination for investment.
Yet, as stated by Minister Keshav, these initiatives are being systematically sabotaged by the opposition. In a press conference, he made claims that YSRCP party members were spreading false information so as to instill fear in potential investors—mainly within key sectors like mining.
He also stated that a YSRCP sympathizer, Uday Bhaskar, sent more than 200 emails loaded with false information, which helped in stopping investment proposals worth almost ₹9,000 crore. The finance minister was worried that this well-thought-out action has already taken a huge toll on investor confidence.
Apart from the email campaign, Keshav also noted that senior YSRCP leaders have been organizing press meets with the objective of tarnishing the reputation of the ruling government. He further disclosed that petitions are being presented in court as part of this grand plan to stall developmental projects in the state.
Displaying email records as evidence, the minister called on the opposition to put an end to these “destructive tactics.” He strongly urged the opposition to stop engaging in negative propaganda and instead support the growth of the state. “If you cannot contribute to development, at least don’t obstruct it,” he stated firmly.
Despite the alleged attempts to sabotage the state’s progress, the minister made it clear that the government remains steadfast in its mission to move forward and ensure Andhra Pradesh continues on its path to growth and prosperity.
