The government has suspended AP Fibernet’s former MD Madhusudan Reddy in connection with liquor scam during YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime. It alleged that huge amounts of funds were misappropriated in Fibernet Corporation and many private individuals were benefited. Moreover, the government felt that he is still trying to cover up those irregularities.
He is also trying to influence present and former employees to cover up irregularities and tampering with APSFL records to destroy evidence. The government found that he had violated the Central Service Rules.
It was found that when he was MD, he hired private persons as employees against the rules. It said that the suspension was to prevent him from influencing the investigation and destroying the evidence. It was directed that he should not leave Amaravati during the period of suspension.
On the other hand, the government has written a letter to the Railway Board regarding the extension of Madhusudan Reddy’s deputation to the state as part of the investigation into APFSL irregularities. The Chief Secretary wrote a letter to the Chairman of the Railway Board requesting to extend the deputation of Madhusudan Reddy for another 6 months.
This letter was written two days ahead of his deputation period to end. Madhusudhan Reddy joined AP government on deputation from Railway Accounts Service on 26th August 2019, soon after Jaganmohan Reddy became chief minister.
The YCP government appointed him as the MD of AP FiberNet Corporation. Presently the term of deputation of Madhusudan Reddy is expiring on 22nd August 2024.
On the other hand, the Coast Guard Headquarters has also sent information to the state government extending the deputation of the former AP MDC MD VG Venkata Reddy, who is under suspension for illegal mining, sand mining and corruption cases.
The Coast Guard Headquarters has written a letter to the Chief Secretary regarding the extension of the deputation of Venkat Reddy, the former Director of the State Mines Department. His deputation was extended till August 31, the date of his retirement from service.
Also, it has been revealed that Venkat Reddy’s corrupt practices and violation of service rules have also been informed to the Central Personnel Affairs Department. The letter made it clear that the state government should take action against Venkata Reddy.
