In what may be considered one of the hardest pieces of information to digest for the AP people, the farmers of the state suffered the highest per capita debt in the entire nation with a whopping sum of Rs 2.45,553 on each head on average.
The Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Sinh Tomar in the Parliament has revealed the top five states of farmers with the most per capita debt in India. Andhra Pradesh topped the list as every farmer got a sum of more than 2.4 lakhs while their monthly earnings are just 10,480 rupees. Telangana stood in fifth place with a per capita debt of Rs 1.52,113 on each farmer making the two Telugu states bad for not helping farmers. Despite the ruling party claiming to be a farmer’s friend, the debt rocketed sky high as the government failed to give incentives on a regular basis and helped the crop in buying to increase the crop value.
Also, the difference between the monthly incomes of Telangana’s farmers (10,200) hasn’t varied compared to AP but their per capita income was at least 1.5 times lesser than AP. This clearly shows that the TRS government is better than the YSRCP as far as the farmers’ issues are concerned. These figures are quite alarming for Jagan Sarkar as they indicate the government’s negligence toward farmers at the national level. Pundits say that AP these days has been topping the charts of India for all wrong reasons.
