AP CM Distributes pension To poor, Flags Off NTR Bharosa Scheme

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu flagged off the revised pension distribution scheme rechristened as ‘NTR Bharosa’ today morning in Mangalagiri constituency. Naidu himself took part in the distribution of revised pension scheme by handing over the amount to a poor family in Penumaka village which falls under his son and MLA Nara Lokesh’s constituency near to the CM camp office. 

It is a known fact that the NDA alliance has promised to increase the social security pension from the existing Rs 3000 to Rs 4000 and also provide arrears from April 1st if they are voted to power. Subsequently, after assuming charge as Chief Minister of the state following the landslide victory in the recent assembly elections, Naidu signed the government order revising the pension to Rs 4000. 

A total of 65,18,496 beneficiaries have been identified as eligible individuals for securing the revised pension. Accordingly, the government has earmarked 4,408 Crores for disbursing Rs 7000 which includes the arrears and revised amount to all these beneficiaries today morning through the Grama Sachivalayam staff. The previous government used to distribute these pensions through village volunteers at the doorsteps in the same manner. But, Naidu’s government decided to carry out the disbursement using Grama Sachivalayam employees. 

Mangalagiri MLA and IT Minister Nara Lokesh and officials from secretariat also accompanied Naidu’s visit today morning. The government has taken steps to complete the distribution by today evening. Each Sachivalayam employee has been allotted 50 households to distribute the revised pension and additionally services of Anganwadi and Asha workers have been deployed to complete the process.
