Hyderabad: Controversial Tollywood director Ram Gopal Varma is currently embroiled in multiple legal battles. The director was summoned by the police for questioning regarding posts made on social media, which allegedly insulted prominent political figures like Chandrababu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh. Varma was questioned for nearly nine hours at the Ongole Rural Police Station.
In a separate development, Varma has also been issued notices by the Andhra Pradesh CID in connection with his 2019 film Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu. The complaint, filed in November 2023 by Telugu Yuva State Spokesperson Bandaru Vamsikrishna, alleges that the film hurt the sentiments of the community. The CID, acting on the complaint, registered a case against Varma and has now called him for further questioning on February 10 at the CID office in Guntur.
