With only one more week left for the polling in Andhra Pradesh, the ruling YCP is said to be indeterminately using its power to create confusion among opposition ranks. TDP sources are indicating that the AP CID has filed a fresh case against TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and general secretary Nara Lokesh.
It seems that the AP CID officials have immediately registered a case against both of them soon after the Election Commission ordered to investigate the complaint filed by the YCP leaders that they were spreading false propaganda on the Land Titling Act.
According to TDP sources, CID has included the names of Chandrababu as A1 and Nara Lokesh as A2 in the FIR. The CID has reportedly registered a case on the basis of the complaint filed by YCP leaders that they are spreading false propaganda about this law through IVRS calls.
On the other hand, the alliance leaders are expressing many doubts about this case. TDP leaders are alleging that the YCP has hatched a conspiracy to undermine the morale of the TDP ranks by filing cases just ahead of polling.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the alliance are wary of the attitude of the Election Commission, which is quick in responding to the complaints of the ruling YCP, but keeping most of their complaints in cold storage. It surprises every one how quick a series of events took place after YCP leaders filed a complaint against TDP.
Immediately, EC responded and directed AP CID to probe into it and without any investigation the CID resorted to register a case against TDP leaders.
TDP leaders are accusing Jagan himself of facing a number of cases of severe financial crimes and he became chief minister being on bail, during his term in office mostly focused on fostering false cases against key TDP leaders. In the process, they also arrested key leaders like Chandrababu Naidu, Atchcham Naidu and Dhulipala Narendra Kumar.
As a last resort, they fear that Jagan’s regime is actively involved to embarrass Chandrababu Naidu with more conspiracies during the polling period also.
