Both Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha and Education Minister Nara Lokesh lamented YCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s cry for more security and approached the High Court seeking security that he had earlier enjoyed as chief minister. They asserted that the government is providing security as per rules and depend upon security perception.
Moreover, they said he already has more security than what a normal MLA or a former chief minister is eligible for. Home Minister Anitha asked why Jagan needed the security of 980 persons, equal to a small village population?
She asserted that the government didn’t down sized security to Jagan. She alleged that Jagan petitions in the High Court seeking more security and also status of a leader of opposition only intended for political gains, but far from the rule book.
She wondered is Jagan not aware that if he wants the status of a leader of opposition he needs 10 percent of total MLAs strength. She lamented that there were many complaints about illegal cases and murders during the YCP regime. Many policemen have complained that they were illegally suspended during the YCP regime, she added.
When she received complaints from the public at the TDP central office on Tuesday, she said that most of the complaints related to land grabbing during the YCP regime. She said that a large number of Jagan’s victims are coming from Pulivendula to the TDP office.
Stating that presently Jagan is having Z Plus security, Minister Nara Lokesh asked is it not enough? Nara Lokesh said in his tweet that in addition to Z Plus security, there are 58 security personnel, two escort teams, security with 10 armed guards, two state-of-the-art land cruisers and bullet-proof cars in the convoy of Jagan.
He asked Jagan as if these are not enough, why is he still asking for security with 986 people? He made it clear that security is being provided to the former CM as per the rules. Also, the police officials said that they are acting according to the report of the committee that monitors security.
