Andhra Pradesh: YSRCP Ex-Minister’s son Arrested In Murder case

Monday, October 21, 2024

As per reliable reports, former YSR Congress party Minister Pinipe Vishwaroop’s son Pinipe Srikanth has been arrested by Andhra Pradesh police from Madurai district in Tamilnadu today morning in connection with his alleged involvement in the murder of a dalit youth from Konaseema district in 2022. Srikanth is labelled as accused A1 by the police after a thorough investigation in the case.

Going into the details, one Jupalli Durga Prasad, who worked as Village Volunteer during YSR Congress party’s government, was found dead in a mysterious manner in Ainavalli Mandal of Konaseema district two years ago. Prima facie evidence revealed that he was murdered. However, there has been no headway in the case during the previous government. After the new regime took over the reigns of the state, the police sped up the investigation and arrested YSRCP social media convener Vaddi Dharmesh last week.

During the interrogation, Dharmesh has reportedly confessed the crime and revealed that Pinipe Srikanth is the mastermind behind the murder. The Konaseema police immediately launched a search operation for Srikanth and four others who orchestrated the crime. Dharmesh has admitted that Durga Prasad was strangulated to death after he was took into a boat by three others. Based on a complaint by the victim’s wife, a missing case was registered by the police.

After a thorough search, Srikanth has been taken into custody in Madurai and he will be brought to Andhra Pradesh after completing due formalities. He is the son of former Transport Minister Pinipe Vishwaroop who contested unsuccessfully in 2024 from Amalapuram assembly constituency.
