Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh coalition government has launched a statewide public outreach initiative titled ‘First Step Towards Good Governance’, aimed at strengthening direct engagement with citizens. As part of the programme, ministers and MLAs are visiting households to listen to public grievances, assess the delivery of welfare schemes, and outline the government’s developmental agenda for the next four years.
Several key announcements were made during these visits. In Kadapa district’s Lingala mandal, Minister Savitha, accompanied by constituency in-charge B.Tech Ravi, conducted door-to-door visits. She announced that the state will roll out a free bus travel scheme for women beginning August 15. The minister also reviewed the local implementation of welfare programmes.
In Anakapalli district’s Devavaram village, Home Minister Anitha briefed residents on the government’s future plans. Bheemunipatnam MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, during his visit to Simhachalam, assured that all eligible citizens will receive the benefits of government schemes. In Tenali, MLC Alapati Rajendra Prasad stated that the administration would remain in tune with public expectations.
Meanwhile, Minister BC Janardhan Reddy, during his visit to Jammalamadugu, strongly criticised opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He called the “Recall Chandrababu” campaign shameful in the wake of the YSRCP’s electoral defeat and claimed the party has become irrelevant. Government pamphlets were also distributed to households as part of the awareness drive.
