IAS officer Amrapali is also set to take her on-job posting in Andhra Pradesh, battling against the transfer from Telangana after a legal fight over the directive by DOPT in both CAT and the High Court. She has since been relieved by the Telangana Government, and discussions are currently on within the Andhra Pradesh Government regarding her new role.
There is a speculation that Amrapali is to be inducted in the team of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Official word is awaited but an induction at any cost may emerge as crucial because Pawan Kalyan, who handles important departments like Panchayat Raj, Drinking Water Supply, Rural Development, Science & Technology, and Forests & Environment is learned to be eager to harness his acumen in one of the important portfolios.
Amrapali’s earlier experience, including her tenure in the Prime Minister’s Office monitoring southern states, has made her a dynamic officer who is active. The government had previously appointed her as the GHMC Commissioner recognizing her efficiency. Amrapali’s current role in Andhra Pradesh has really raised many eyebrows especially by noticing the careful team-building process led by Pawan Kalyan. Given the arrival of Mylavarapu Krishnateja, a Kerala cadre officer from the Amrapali lot joining his team, there would be other strategic inclusions expected from Amrapali’s appointment as well.
While there is no word on which posting her or the other officials transferred from Telangana would get, the going is likely to be clear once Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan return to Amaravati. Naturally, all eyes are now on Amrapali’s assignment, and everybody is eagerly awaiting her next role – both political circles and the public.
It represents a continuous trend in Andhra Pradesh, and several of its leaders would look to strengthen their teams before the coming administrative tasks. Amrapali forms the nucleus of this change, and any step she takes next will be keenly followed.
