It is known that Amaravati area was proposed as the new capital of Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation of the two Telugu states. However, the changes in political parties have cast a shadow over this project and have been delaying it. However, with the return to power of the NDA coalition government, it is now looking to speed up its work.

The Amaravati capital area has been designed to be larger than about 5,000 acres. However, it is known that the previous government had set aside this project with the intention of not burdening the people due to the possibility of crippling the state financially. But now the coalition government has come forward with a smart solution.

Minister for Municipal Administration Dr P. Narayana stated that the construction of the capital city of Amaravati can be completed with just Rs. 64,000 crores. He said that they will make it a world-class capital city and make it one of the top-5 cities in the world. He said that the money from the taxes of the people of the state will not be used for this project, which will be built on 5000 acres collected for Amaravati. Narayana revealed that there will be no additional tax burden on the people due to this.

However, 1,200 acres of this 5,000 acres of land has been earmarked for the establishment of international and national level educational institutions, schools and industries. He said that after providing all the facilities, the remaining land will be sold at a good price and the proceeds will be used to repay the loans taken for the construction of the capital.

Narayana said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has transformed Amaravati into a wonderful city with his experience. While Rs. 64,000 crore has been approved for the construction of the capital of Amaravati, tenders for Rs. 50,000 crore have already been called. HUDCO, ADB Bank and the World Bank are providing funds for the construction of the capital.

Rs. 6,000 crore has been allocated for the capital in this year’s budget. Narayana said that transparency will be maintained regarding the funds agreed for the construction of the capital and no fraud will be allowed. He said that the funds are being protected from being diverted as was done by previous governments in this regard. He advised the people not to believe the words of the opposition regarding the construction of the capital.
