The farmers of Amaravathi who gave their lands for the construction of the AP capital are still fighting for justice against the YSRCP Government which shifted the capital to Visakhapatnam. The agitated farmers are all set to deliver yet another Padayatra and the details are out.

The leader of Amaravathi Parirakshana Samithi, Kokilapu Srinivas declared that the third leg of the farmers’ walkathon will be flagged off on the 17th of July but this time from the NTR Ghat of Hyderabad. This is the first Padayatra the farmers are starting outside the AP State and would end up in the Amaravathi village of Uddandarayunipalem. The leader stated that they have already started the arrangements and a group of farmers who carry identity cards and their supporters would march on foot from Hyderabad to Uddandarayunipalem by conducting meetings all the way in important constituencies and shall have a huge public meeting in Amaravathi on the concluding day. This campaigning is indeed important as it is done before the elections so that the voters shall have fresh memories of the entire issue.

Earlier the farmers marched once from the High Court of Amaravathi all the way to the holy city of Tirupati and everything went well. The second padayatra which started at Venkatapalem village which has to end up in Uttarandhra was suspended all of a sudden in East Godavari as the Police stopped the farmers citing that they don’t have ID cards and even the High Court backed the AP Government in this regard.
