All eyes are on the first list of the TDP – Janasena alliance as the news broke out that the candidates’ names will be revealed today morning at 11 o’clock. As the ruling party led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has already announced the party incharges of various constituencies well in advance, both the TDP and the Janasena party are under immense pressure to announce the potential candidates who are going to contest in the upcoming polls so that they can get ready with various poll-related activities.
If the ongoing reports in political and media circles are to be believed, the first list will feature around 60 names with TDP getting the lion’s share as expected with 50 seats. 10 candidates representing Janasena will be announced in the list. As uncertainty over alliance with the BJP continues, it looks like the TDP and Janasena have decided to announce only a part of the 175 seats. Moreover, only the candidates for assembly segments will be announced and those who are going to contest in Lok Sabha elections will not be revealed in this list.
Both Chandra Babu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan along with the main leaders of both parties will meet in a while ahead of this much-awaited announcement to have final discussions over the list. Nadendla Manohar and other key leaders of Janasena will take part in this meeting.
Last month, Chandra Babu announced that TDP will contest in Araku and Mandapeta constituencies in the upcoming elections. A few days later, Pawan Kalyan also openly declared two seats for Janasena from Rajam and Rajanagaram. TDP is likely to retain all sitting MLAs barring a couple in this list. Meanwhile, Janasena is likely to get opportunity in places like Narsapuram and Tenali.
It would be interesting to see who others will make the cut in the first list. Some confirmed names like Chandra Babu Naidu, Atchen Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, Nadendla Manohar and a few others are likely to feature in the list.
