After former chief minister and YCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy was forced to take U turn from his adamant attitude of not to attend Assembly sessions till he is provided `Leader of Opposition’ status, now his party leaders are raising bogy of security concerns for him.
YSRCP parliamentary party leader YV Subbareddy has demanded that YS Jagan be provided with Z+ security wherever he goes. Ahead of Jagan attending the assembly session, he alleged that the state government has been negligent in the matter of Jagan’s security and that the matter will be brought to the attention of the central government soon.
Subba Reddy was furious that the government did not provide adequate security to Jagan when he went to the Guntur mirchi yard last week and acted in a way that harmed him. Moreover, he accused the state government of being insulting by not giving him opposition status and humiliating him without providing him proper space.
The former TTD Trust Board Chairman said that the opposition leader is important in a democracy and that democratic values are damaged by the government’s behavior. He deplored that the coalition government is illegally filing cases against YSRCP workers and leaders and engaging in factionalism.
Subba Reddy alleged that the coalition government has not come forward to solve public problems in the state. He said that farmers are suffering in the state due to lack of remunerative prices, and the condition of chilli farmers is dire. He expressed concern that despite many problems in the state, the government is not paying attention to them.
In particular, he said that the situation of farmers has become worse and that the rulers are not paying attention to the farmers. He made it clear that Jagan is ready to raise these situations in the state in the Assembly and is not afraid of anyone for not going to the Assembly.
He said that Jagan has decided to attend the Assembly session only to bring to the notice of the government about the problems of the people. However, he made it clear that Jagan is not coming to the Assembly because he is afraid of anyone.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Rammohan Naidu alleged that YCP leaders are making some kind of ruckus only fearing that people have forgotten them. He said that YCP is not fighting on public issues, but fighting because Jagan did not get opposition status and was not given Z plus security. He recalled how teachers and employees were terrorized during the previous regime.
