At a time all the mainstream political parties in Andhra Pradesh are remained silent over nation-wide outrage over Election Commission’s Special Intensive Reverification (SIR) of Voters list, the Congress party has launched `Vote Chori agitation in the state.
APCC president YS Sharmila announced that after Bihar, Maharashtra and Karnataka, their party is preparing for a similar movement in the state. For this, she said they have decided to first collect signatures from the people in protest against vote theft. To this extent, she urged the people to support this movement being undertaken by the Congress Party on a large scale.
The PCC has started collecting signatures against vote theft from September 15 to October 15. Sharmila said that there is a need to fight to protect the right to vote of the people. She said that the Constitution of India has given us the right to vote, has given us the freedom to choose our leaders, and the Election Commission of India has the responsibility to protect the right to vote.
Sharmila asserted that the Election Commission should hold elections in a free and fair manner. But, she deplored that the Election Commission has become a hostage in the hands of Prime Minister Modi. She expressed concern that institutions like CBI, ED, IT, RBI, Stock Exchange are working for the BJP in Modi’s clique.
She said that the Election Commission is also working for the BJP. Rahul Gandhi has revealed this matter to the country, and this is the raw truth, Sharmila said. She recalled that Rahul Gandhi had exposed the EC’s trap before the country and the Mahadevapura constituency in Karnataka was taken as a sample, and one lakh stolen votes were registered there.
Sharmila said that all the stolen photos, stolen names, and stolen addresses are there. She asked who cast these votes, saying that more than 60 lakh new votes were polled in the Maharashtra elections between 5 and 6 pm. He said that the EC does not have any evidence as to where the CCTV footage is.
She also questioned whether more than one crore new votes were registered 5 months before the elections, rather than in 5 years in AP? Wasn’t all this done for vote theft? She alleged that the Election Commission had removed the votes of those who were against the BJP and registered fraudulent votes in favor of the BJP.
Sharmila alleged that the Election Commission of India is working as the BJP’s election agent and there is a need to fight against vote theft nationwide.
