In a massive fire broke out in Hyderabad’s old city of Mir Chowk, atleast 11 people died. The accident took place on Sunday morning in a building near Gulzar House. A total of four family members were trapped in the fire. There were a total of 30 members in the building. Rescue workers rescued 16 of them.
As the fire spread rapidly, 10 people lost consciousness and fell there. Firefighters and locals are trying hard to rescue some others who were trapped in the fire. The injured were taken to Osmania, Yashoda (Malakpet), DRDO and Apollo hospitals. It is said that three died on the spot. Eight people died while receiving treatment in the hospital.
It is said that the condition of some others is critical. 14 ambulances reached the spot to provide immediate medical assistance to the victims. The deceased include four women, two men and two children. Union Minister Kishan Reddy reached the spot and spoke to the families of the victims.
The deceased include Abhishek Modi (30), Aarushi Jain (17), Harshali Gupta (7), Sheetal Jain (37), Rajender Kumar (67), Sumitra (65), Munnibai (72), and Iraj (2). The details of three more deceased are yet to be known. Police believe that the accident may have occurred due to an AC compressor exploding due to a short circuit.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. The tragedy has cast a shadow of sadness over the old city. The family members of the deceased are immersed in grief. Due to the accident, the police have imposed traffic restrictions in the old city. Traffic is being diverted. The roads leading to Charminar have been closed. The police have warned that no one should come here in the current situation.
People are panicking due to the recent increase in fire incidents in Hyderabad. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed shock over the fire incident that took place in the old city. He instructed the officials to provide better medical treatment to the injured and intensify relief efforts. CM Revanth Reddy is investigating the reasons for the accident and assured them that he will stand by the victims.
