A Full-pledged probe Into Former YCP Minister Peddireddy’s Forest Lands Encroachment

The AP government ordered for a full-pledged probe into allegations of illegal empire set up in the forest by encroaching 75.75 acres of land by former minister and senior YSRCP leader Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. On the orders of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, a joint committee has been formed with the Chittoor District Collector, SP and Anantapur Conservator of Forest officials.

After learning about the news about the encroachment of forest lands by former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy in Chittoor district, CM Chandrababu has asked the officials for an immediate report. Soon after, the officials prepared a preliminary report on land irregularities in the Pulicharla mandal and Mangalampeta revenue village limits of Punganur constituency.

It is learnt that the CM, who was not satisfied with this, has asked for a comprehensive report. CM Chandrababu Naidu, who studied the preliminary report given by the authorities, decided to discuss it in the Revenue Department review to be held at the Secretariat.

Clear instructions have been sent to the field level from the CMO to take the issue of forest land encroachment seriously by the relevant departments. It has come to the notice of the CM that there are allegations of encroachment of hundreds of acres in Punganur, Thamballapalle and Renigunta mandals with manipulation of records and in benami names.

CM Chandrababu ordered a full-scale investigation immediately and the government formed a joint committee. Chittoor Collector Sumit, District SP Manikantha Chandolu and IFS officer Yashoda Bai have been appointed as members of the joint committee. The government will take further action based on the investigation report. It is reported that the government is preparing to take strict action after collecting solid evidence.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who is in charge of the Forest Department, has also ordered a comprehensive investigation into the Peddireddy family’s land irregularities. He said that an investigation should be conducted into the extent to which forest lands were encroached upon and how the forests there were destroyed.
