Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu launched a new flight service from Rajahmundry to Tirupati. The new flight service was launched virtually in Delhi along with MP Purandeswari.
Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, MLC Somu Veerraju, MLAs Adireddy Srinivas, Gorantla Buchayya Chowdhury, Ramakrishna Reddy, Balaramakrishna and others participated in the program at the Rajahmundry Airport.
Rammohan Naidu said that he was very happy to start a new service from the cultural city of Rajahmundry to the spiritual city of Tirupati during the Dussehra Mahotsavam. He said that the Delhi and Mumbai flights started earlier are running with full occupancy and more services will be started to Varanasi, Cochin, Shirdi, Goa and other places in the future.
The minister announced that the first 35 tickets of the newly launched flight to Tirupati will be available to passengers for 3 months at a price of Rs 1999 and 35 tickets at a price of Rs 4000. MP Purandeshwari said that starting a flight service from Rajamahendravaram to Tirupati during Navratri is a great thing. She said that this will contribute a lot to the development of this region.
MLA Adireddy Srinivas said that a large number of people from Godavari districts are going to Gulf countries for employment and requested that services be operated from here. Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh opined that starting connectivity services to various regions from Rajamahendravaram airport is a good development in view of the needs of passengers.
There are also opportunities to operate charter and non-stop flights to South Asian and Central Asian international destinations from Renigunta airport. The runway has already been expanded from 2,285 meters to 3,810 meters. ILS instrument landing system, DVORE and DME system have been installed.
The daily landing and takeoff capacity has increased from 100 to 200 aircraft. ILS has reduced the visual range from 1500 to 700 meters.
