Jagan Gives `clean chit’ To His Regime,  says Liquor scam Is creation of Chandrababu

Friday, December 5, 2025

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy giving `clean chit’ himself to his five-year regime, asserted that there was no wrongdoing in the liquor case during his government and it was created by present chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. Moreover, he made it clear all the people named as accused are ‘good officials’.

He alleged that the present government is behaving in an anarchic manner by intimidating, threatening and creating false evidence. He recalled that former AP Beverages MD Vasudeva Reddy had filed a petition in the High Court three times, saying that the government was threatening him.

He revealed a new fact that Chandrababu was on bail in the liquor scam between 2014-19. He questioned what Raj Kasireddy, who was one of the advisors of the then government, had to do with the activities of Beverages?  He said that he worked for only two years. He alleged that Vijayasai Reddy acted in a way that would benefit the alliance.

He mentioned Vijayawada TDP MP Kesineni Nani’s statement that the then Vijayawada TDP MP had business dealings with Raj Kasireddy. He said that they had business relations and were directors of several companies. If they all met, wouldn’t Google take over knows?, he asked.

Jaganmohan Reddy wondered what is the connection of MP Midhun Reddy in the liquor affair? He said that he is the floor leader in the Lok Sabha. He also asked what is the connection of Dhanunjay Reddy and Krishna Mohan Reddy? He said that they did not sign the file related to it.

He expressed his grief that Dhanunjay Reddy, Krishna Mohan Reddy, Govindappa, PSR Anjaneya and some other blameless officials, who worked during the YSRCP regime were brought and put in jail. He alleged that in the current government, liquor shops were handed over to ministers and MLAs in the name of lottery.

Jagan lamented that now the government is trying to fabricate accusations that were leveled against Chandrababu Naidu previously, against them. He asked whether there were not any brands during TDP’s regime that were never seen earlier?

He recalled that they promised to reduce liquor prices if the coalition government comes and asked  where they have reduced them? Stating that they are selling them for more than the MRP, he asked, is it not a scam? He expressed concern that they have reduced the quality of liquor by offering it for Rs 99. He alleged  that the Red Book Constitution is currently being implemented in the state.
