The AP state capital Amaravati is becoming a hub of advanced technology. The country’s largest and most advanced quantum computer will be set up in the Quantum Valley Tech Park here. To this end, a memorandum of understanding was signed between tech giants IBM, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), L&T and the state government in the presence of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Undavalli.
With this, the country’s first tech park will be inaugurated on January 1 next year. As per the agreement with the tech giants, the largest IBM Quantum System 2 with the latest 156-qubit Heron quantum processor will be set up here for the first time at the national level in that tech park. TCS will provide support for this.
The Chief Minister reviewed the establishment of Quantum Valley and the establishment of a research center in the presence of IBM Quantum Vice President Jay Gambetta, TCS CTO Harik Win, and TCL representatives V. Rajanna and CV Sridhar. The MoU was signed by IT Secretary Katanneni Bhaskar on behalf of the state government.
CM Chandrababu said that the agreement to establish Quantum Valley is historic. He expressed hope that a new era will begin in AP with the launch of Quantum Valley on January 1. The CM explained that he will soon inform Prime Minister Modi in detail about the Quantum Valley project to be set up in Amaravati.
He said that the agreement signed with IBM, TCS, and L&T will be a historic event not only for AP but also for the entire country. He said that new opportunities like artificial intelligence and quantum computing are emerging in the technology sector and all future needs will depend on quantum computing.
He said that job opportunities will increase through Quantum Valley. The CM asked IBM, TCS and L&T to develop Amaravati into a Quantum Valley on the lines of Silicon Valley. He said that Hyderabad Hi-Tech City was built in 15 months and he instructed L&T to build Quantum Valley in Amaravati at the same speed. He recalled that land has already been allocated for Quantum Valley.
