Has An opposition Leader, who Does Not come To The Assembly Have A Right To Ask?

Strongly refuting former chief minister and BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao’s accusations against his government, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy asked “does an opposition leader who does not come to the assembly have the right to ask questions?”

He questioned which law allows him to work as a public leader while receiving a salary from the government? Revanth Reddy asked a direct question as to why KCR did not go to the people, even though he did not come to the assembly? He alleged that KCR spread falsehood against his government, filling himself with poison.

Revanth Reddy attending the 892nd birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Basaveshwara at Rabindra Bharati in Hyderabad, leveled several criticisms at BRS chief KCR. He said that Basavanna in the 12th century worked on the changes that needed to be brought about in society. He said that his government is also working taking inspiration from him.

“KCR is saying, ‘I will not come to the assembly.. I will send my children’.. Then why is he the leader of the opposition?” he asked. He wondered what type of message the former chief minister intended to give by sleeping himself in his farmhouse? He strongly refuted the attitude of KCR that he will work if he is in power, otherwise he will not attend the assembly.

The Chief Minister said that his government had cooperated when the BRS intended to hold their silver jubilee rally. But, he deplored that they tried to create rift among people with KCR’s hate speech.

“It is true that your party has hundreds of crores of money and farmhouses. How can you justify not performing duties while taking government salaries and allowances?. What law is there about not working while taking salaries?. Why are you sleeping in a farmhouse without performing the responsibility of the opposition?”, he asked.

In this context, Revanth Reddy opined that some people are angry with the government and are making a fuss. But, he advised them that it would be better if they carried out their responsibility as the opposition. Revanth Reddy said that it is ridiculous to describe his party as ‘Telangana Villain Congress’ and said that it is like a cat that has eaten 100 mice and has now changed and gone on a pilgrimage.

As the leader of the opposition, he said that KCR has the authority to highlight the shortcomings of the government, and in the same order, he asked them to give appropriate suggestions for good governance.
