YSRCP Grapples with Uncertainty As Senior Leaders Resign And Key MPs Head To Delhi

Monday, January 27, 2025

Major political changes are unfolding within the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), especially in Delhi, as key leaders move out of the way in unexpected ways. Formerly, senior leader Vijaya Sai Reddy shocked people by announcing his retirement from politics and resignation from the Rajya Sabha seat. This has ignited a lot of discussions within the party and also raised questions over the future of the YSRCP, as two other YSRCP Rajya Sabha members are already in Delhi that is adding more fuel to the speculations.

Vijaya Sai Reddy clarified that it was a personal decision to stay away from politics. He said that he would not join any other political party and intended to concentrate on farming only. However, his decision has further generated several questions regarding two more MPs who are said to be prepared to follow the same line and quit the party. In addition, a number of YSRCP MPs have been holding meetings with Reddy, which has created multiple questions in the minds of party members.

Rajya Sabha members Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy have recently arrived in Delhi, with Rami Reddy returning from abroad. Tirupati MP Gurumurthy also met with Vijaya Sai Reddy recently. While rumors had suggested that Rami Reddy might resign, he has since denied these claims and is set to hold a press conference in Delhi. Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose has also commented on Reddy’s resignation and is planning to meet with Rami Reddy. Despite ongoing speculations, their supporters have confirmed that both MPs are committed to staying with the YSRCP.

Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose described Vijaya Sai Reddy as an influential leader in the party, expressing hope that Reddy will continue his political journey. He is scheduled to meet with Reddy soon in Delhi. Although rumors about more Rajya Sabha members leaving the party persist, no official announcements have been made yet. Political observers believe that the situation will become clearer once Parliament sessions resume.

These developments have raised significant questions about how Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will respond to the shifting dynamics within his party. With the political landscape in Andhra Pradesh in flux, all eyes are now on the next steps for the YSRCP and how it will shape the future of the state’s politics.
