CRDA Act Against Employees For Demanding Bribes To Register Flats of Farmers

Sunday, December 22, 2024

The bribe-laden CRDA employees have created a stir by demanding bribes to register the flats of farmers. The allotment of their share of flats to the farmers who were given lands for the construction of the capital has not yet been completed. In this order, the coalition government has expedited the registration process after the formation of the government.

Audio recordings of employees demanding bribes from farmers applying to CRDA officials for registration have gone viral. Audio recordings of some employees demanding bribes to register the plots allotted to farmers under the CRDA have come to light. Those who have not paid bribes are being prevented from registering by giving various excuses.

The CRDA Commissioner, who removed the employee who demanded bribes from the farmers, has filed a complaint with the Thullur police to investigate the matter. He has filed a complaint with the ACB DG also to investigate the entire matter. In a letter to the ACB, he has asked them to find those behind the computer operator.

A conversation between a farmer’s son from Abbarajupalem village and CRDA computer operator Ashok demanding money has gone viral. Bhogineni Koteswarao from Abbarajupalem was given 1.5 acres of land for the construction of the capital under the land pooling scheme. In return, CRDA allotted him 1,500 square yards of residential land and 360 square yards of commercial plots.

Koteswarao has a son and a daughter. Koteswarao and his daughters died during Covid 19. The farmer’s son Sudheer went to the CRDA office to transfer the plots in the names of his sister’s sons along with him.

When Ashok, who is doing the registration work of Abbarajupalem and Borupalem villages in CRDA for the registration of the plots, was approached by him, he asked for a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh. After that, when he asked him to reduce the bribe several times, he suggested that no matter how much he was given, he should give Rs. 50,000 to the higher-up.

This conversation has been doing the rounds on social media since Saturday. After the audio was released, many farmers brought to light the difficulties they are facing in registering their plots. The victims complained that they have been creating disputes for months without registering.

Allegations have surfaced that low-level employees in CRDA are harassing farmers for bribes. They are being paraded around the CRDA office without registering the plots that are due to the farmers who have been given land. The government has provided the facility to register the plots given as farmers’ share from parents to sons and daughters.

Even if there are technical reasons, they are demanding bribes without registering them even if the actual farmers have died. Nearly 29,000 farmers have handed over their lands for the construction of Amaravati.

Since the registration of the plots has not been completed for many of them, the CRDA Commissioner has ordered at least 300 registrations to be done daily. However, the employees are doing very little. Plots for 17,452 people still need to be registered.
