The central government is moving ahead with plans for simultaneous elections, as Prime Minister Modi has recently clarified details on this initiative. In Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has shown his support for Jamili elections, a position that aligns with Jagan Reddy’s earlier endorsement during his previous tenure. With preparations underway to present the Jamili bill in the upcoming Parliament session, the Andhra Pradesh government is also speeding up the implementation of its welfare programs.
As the prospect of Jamili elections looms closer, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders are feeling increasingly confident, especially amid growing public dissatisfaction with the coalition government. During a recent swearing-in ceremony for Chittoor and Tirupati district in-charge Bhumana, MP Vijay Sai Reddy suggested that elections are likely to take place in 2027. He acknowledged the party’s past challenges but emphasized their commitment to approaching the upcoming elections united, confidently stating that Jagan’s return as Chief Minister is assured.
Sai Reddy expressed his belief that the YSRCP will achieve an unexpected victory in the 2027 elections. Meanwhile, MP Y.V. Subba Reddy remarked that the party’s previous defeat was largely due to negative campaigning by coalition leaders, pointing to the increasing public discontent with the current government. He emphasized the critical role that Bhumana will play in securing victories across all seats in Chittoor district. Additionally, advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy voiced strong criticism of the coalition government, claiming that lawlessness and a “mafia-like” rule have surged since Naidu’s return to power.
In a separate but related issue, former Minister Roja has fiercely criticized Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. She accused him of engaging in “super cheating” instead of fulfilling his “super six” promises. Roja raised concerns over the CBN government’s influence on EVM production, asserting that it will ultimately be the voters who decide Pawan’s fate, regardless of his claims of public service.
Roja also condemned Pawan for remaining silent in the face of rising sexual violence incidents throughout the state, suggesting that he is unduly influenced by the Chief Minister’s son. She highlighted Pawan’s lack of response since Naidu’s return to power and criticized the government for its inadequate support of flood victims in Vijayawada, alleging rampant corruption while citizens continue to suffer.
This ongoing political landscape in Andhra Pradesh is shaping up to be a crucial focal point as we approach the upcoming elections, with parties recalibrating their strategies and leaders responding to public sentiments.
