Thursday, September 19, 2024

AP Police said to be issued a look out notice to arrest former Gannavaram MLA and YCP leader vallabhaneni Vamsi, who is wanted in attack on Gannavaram TDP office case, during the YCP regime. Though police did not reveal about the look out notice, Krishna District SP Gangadhar said that details cannot be disclosed due to ongoing investigation.

Special police teams are searching for Vamsi’s whereabouts. Three police teams are said to be sent to Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Bellary and Bengaluru, for him and some other accused in the case. The police have kept a special vigil on Vamsi’s relatives and friends.

Meanwhile, the police have already arrested 21 people in the TDP office attack case. Police circles are unable to conclude whether he is in India or escaped to the USA, as it was widely reported earlier in the media.

After a change of government in the state, his name was included in the case as A71. Many of those arrested testified that it was Vallabheni Vamsee who instigated the attack. With this, the police believe that Vamsi should be made A1 in this case. As part of this, police teams are searching for Vamsi.

All those arrested so far in this case have been remanded for medical examination. The police believe that if Vamsi is detained and investigated, more details of the attack will come to light.

On Friday afternoon, the media speculated that Vamsi was arrested. But later it was confirmed that two of his associates were arrested, but not himself.

On the other hand, the police are keeping a tight surveillance with regard to the whereabouts of Vamsi. It is reported that his call data and movements of assistants have been closely monitored. On the other hand, it is reported that Vamsi’s wife has gone to Hyderabad from Vijayawada.

On February 20 last year, the then MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s followers and YCP leaders attacked and set fire to the Gannavaram TDP office. Apart from destroying furniture in the office, several TDP leaders were injured and vehicles were set on fire. Although Vamsi was not directly involved in the attack, there are allegations that the YCP groups created havoc at his instigation as an MLA.
