Chandrababu Entered Assembly After Two And Half Years

Sunday, December 22, 2024

TDP chief and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu entered the AP Legislative Assembly on Friday to take oath as MLA after a gap of two and half years. Deploring the abusive language used by YCP members against his wife, he had left the house on November 19, 2021 taking oath that he will enter again only after becoming Chief Minister again.

Keeping his oath, he has succeeded in pushing out chaotic YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime in the recent assembly polls, which failed even to be a recognized opposition party, he entered the house with pride in the midst of cheers by members of TDP and its allies, nine days after taking oath as Chief Minister for the fourth time.

Before coming to the Assembly, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu paid homage to NTR’s statue at Venkatapalem along with all TDP MLAs, in Amaravati region.

It may be recalled that in November, 2021 he had taken oath in the Assembly stating: “I will come back to the House after becoming the Chief Minister, I don’t need such nasty politics. This is not a House of Honor. This is a Kaurava Sabha”.

“I am stating once again that I will not be in such a Kaurava Sabha. Salutations to you. I am appealing to all the people, I request you all to understand this shame and bless me with a full heart”, he added.

On that day, a war of words broke out between the ruling YSRCP and the opposition Telugu Desam during the discussion in the Assembly on farmers’ issues. Chandrababu and other MLAs boycotted the Legislative Assembly protesting that the Speaker cut his myke while he was speaking.

Chandrababu immediately met with his MLAs and in an emotionally surcharged voice with tears in his eyes, he deplored that the leaders of the ruling party had insulted his wife in the assembly. He recalled that in his four-decades political career, he had never spoken to insult anyone.

He expressed his concern that he had not behaved disrespectfully towards anyone, but the language spoken by the YSRCP leaders in the assembly about his wife was vile. Naidu vowed to enter the Assembly only after the Telugu Desam Party came to power.

He expressed his concern that he had never seen such situations in his experience of being elected eight times. Today, on the occasion of Chandrababu’s entry into the assembly, the ranks of TDP are once again recalling Chandrababu’s vow and his determination in public life.
