In the wake of uncertain national political developments after BJP failed to get a majority on its own in the Lok Sabha, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that his journey is with NDA only. Before leaving for Delhi to attend the NDA meeting on Wednesday, he told the media that he has seen many political developments in the country and made it clear that his political journey will continue with the NDA alliance.
The TDP president said that the extent of the destruction in AP cannot be known unless one looks at it from within. He said that the media got freedom in AP and then it came to the people.
He thanked the media and the people of the state and said that he was bowing his head. He said that he had never seen the government that he had seen for last five years in his long political journey. He said that everyone has seen how all the democratic systems have suffered not only one sector or system.
He recalled that his message and call was only that the people should win and the state should stand. Stating that he saw the 10th election and said that nation is eternal, democracy is eternal and power is impermanent. He recalled that many parties and individuals have disappeared.
He said that he has never seen such a historic election and people so wildly rejected the ruling party. He recalled that even a person in America came to vote by spending five to six lakhs of rupees and those who went to neighboring states to fill their stomachs came directly with their own money.
They said that they had come to cast their votes by packing their lunches. In an emotional tone, he said that he did not know how to appreciate that commitment. He said that history can be written in golden letters in the history of TDP and in the history of AP.
In 1983, TDP got 200 seats, in 1994 it got seats without opposition status due to public opposition against changing of three chief ministers. But this time, the results were unexpected, he added.
He said that people who have experienced it know the reasons. People know that they have lost the right to speak in democracy, the freedom to live, the freedom to own property, and how we met in the election. Chandrababu said while the alliance parties got 55.38 percent votes, TDP got 45.60 percent and YCP secured 39.37 percent.
