Three senior officials of AP Fibernet have been dismissed. Fibernet Chairman GV Reddy has ordered the immediate removal of Fibernet Chief Technology Officer Bharadwaja, Fibernet Business Head Suresh, and Procurement Assistant Manager Shashank Haider Khan from their duties.
GV Reddy deplored that there has been no minimum progress in Fibernet for the last 9 months and that not a single rupee of revenue has been generated. The Chairman clarified that action has been taken against the three officials because the authorities are not cooperating in the reforms being carried out in APSFL, which is why action has been taken against them.
GV Reddy expressed his anger that the authorities did not pay attention to the orders to dismiss 400 people in the company. He was angry that the Fibernet MD and ED did not sign the orders to dismiss employees, and the company paid the employees in the form of salaries.
He alleged that the senior officials of Fibernet joined hands with the previous government. He said that the GST officials imposed a fine of Rs. 377 crore on Fibernet, but the officials did not tell him. He said that they could not provide a single new connection in these 9 months, and there are constant problems in the internet system.
GV Reddy said that all this is evidence of how Fibernet officials are working. He alleged that Fibernet MD Dinesh Kumar came in August, but did not review it for a single day, and did not meet a single operator. He wondered whether Dinesh Kumar wanted to kill Fibernet? He said that Dinesh Kumar is working just like he was in the previous government.
He revealed that he is not setting targets at all, nor is he trying to increase income. But he explained that salaries were paid to the staff illegally for 3 months. He said that the amount of those salaries should be collected from MD Dinesh and higher officials.
“I will write a letter to the Advocate General and Chief Secretary to recover that amount. There was also a delay in the payment of income tax. I found out the matter and saved Rs. 30 crore. Fibernet officials are committing corruption and betrayal. They did not cooperate with the vigilance investigation into irregularities between 2019-24”, he added.
GV Reddy said that he is writing a letter to the Chief Secretary seeking to conduct an investigation and recover the money. He deplored that the senior officials are committing treason and have committed an unforgivable crime.
