The composition of the new cabinet of Nara Chandrababu Naidu seems to be mostly reflecting a team of his son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh. According to his repeated plea for preference to youth, priority was given to the youth.
Out of 24 ministers, as many as 10 ministers are first time elected to the Assembly. Seven more may be elected a couple of times, but first time joining the cabinet. Thus, in total 17 MLAs are for the first time becoming ministers.
First time MLAs are along with Nara Lokesh and Pawan, Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, Vasamshetty Subhash, TG Bharat, S.Savita, Kandula Durgesh, Satyakumar Yadav, Kondapalli Srinivas, Gummadi Sandhyarani and others won as MLAs for the first time.
Along with those 10 people, seven more newcomers were also given a chance in the cabinet. Payyavula Keshav, Angani Sathyaprasad, Nimmala Ramanaidu, Anita Vangalapudi, Nadendla Manohar, Dola Balaveeranjaneyaswamy, Gottipati Rav Kumari and BC Janarthan Reddy.
These leaders have won as MLAs many times in the past but never got a place in the cabinet. In other words, overall 17 newcomers got a place in the cabinet. The list of cabinet reflects mostly Lokesh imprint, than that of Chandrababu Naidu.
Among three women members in the cabinet, two are senior party leaders. They are Telugu Mahila state president Vangalapudi Anitha and senior party leader Gummadi Sandhya Rani. New entrant to politics Savitha also became minister.
Senior leaders like Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, who has been serving the party since its inception, was for the first time kept out of the cabinet. Senior leaders like Gorantla Butchaiah Choudhary, Ch.
