YSRCP MLC Thota Trimurthulu Granted Bail in Head Tonsuring Case

YSRCP MLC Thota Trimurthulu, who was jailed in a case of head tonsuring, has been granted bail. A case has been registered against MLC Thota Trimurti for allegedly torturing five Dalits and conducting head tonsuring on two of them at Venkatayapalem (now in Konaseema district) of Ramachandrapuram mandal 28 years ago. The case has been under investigation since 1996.

Today, the Visakhapatnam court sentenced the accused in the head tonsuring case. One of the accused, MLC Thota Trimurthulu, was sentenced to 18 months in jail and a fine of Rs 2.50 lakh was imposed on him.

However, after the verdict was pronounced, the Thota Trimurtis applied for bail. The court granted him bail after considering his plea. MLC Thota Trimurthulu is contesting this election from Mandapeta assembly constituency as a YSRCP candidate.
