Amaravati: VIJAYAWADA: YSRCP unveiled its second list of candidates for the imminent Lok Sabha and assembly elections on Tuesday. In a move to ensure inclusivity, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy retained the majority of sitting legislators while naming three sitting MPs for the assembly elections and assigning three legislators to contest Lok Sabha elections. Notably, former minister Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani), along with MLAs B Karunakar Reddy, Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy, Shaik Mustafa, and Rajya Sabha member Pilli Subhash Chandrabose, succeeded in securing tickets for their sons.
Perni Nani’s son Perni Krishna Murthy will oversee the Machilipatnam constituency, while Bose’s son Suryaprakash will contest from Ramachandrapuram constituency in East Godavari district. Former minister M Sankara Narayana and legislator from Penugonda will contest Lok Sabha elections from Ananthapuram, and women and child welfare minister Ushasri Charan will contest from Penugonda. Additionally, former minister Gummanuru Jayaram has been chosen for the Lok Sabha election from Kurnool constituency. The second list also includes at least three minority candidates.
Senior minister Botcha Satyanarayana emphasized that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy considered social equations and provided ample opportunities for BC candidates in the forthcoming elections. The list reveals strategic shifts and selections in various constituencies, and further details for Prakasam and Nellore segments are pending.
