In Visakhapatnam, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) faced a significant setback in the 2024 Assembly and Parliamentary elections in Andhra Pradesh. Gudivada Amarnath, YSRCP leader and former minister who was unsuccessful in the elections, addressed the media on Thursday. “I respect the people’s verdict, as winning and losing are inherent to elections,” he stated. Amarnath congratulated alliance leaders Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Purandeswari for their electoral victories.
He urged everyone to prioritize the state’s development, noting that over the past five years, 99 percent of the promises had been fulfilled, with numerous welfare schemes successfully implemented. Amarnath expressed a sense of uncertainty regarding the electorate’s desires and acknowledged the surprising election results. He called for condemnation of the attacks that occurred throughout the state, emphasizing the need for better protection of YSRCP activists. Amarnath assured that all issues would be thoroughly reviewed.
