Tirupati: YS Sharmila, the Chief of the Andhra Pradesh Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), addressed a Congress workers’ meeting in Tirupati, where she vehemently criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to fulfill any of his promises. Sharmila specifically pointed out Modi’s unfulfilled commitment to provide 90% of the funds for the Polavaram project, questioning the progress on the project and challenging the Prime Minister’s credibility. Expressing dissatisfaction with the state’s development, Sharmila highlighted the lack of a capital even after a decade and criticized the confusion surrounding the capital’s plans.

She noted the absence of a metro system in any city in the state, emphasizing that this is unique to Andhra Pradesh in South India. Sharmila listed grievances, including the absence of special status, incomplete projects like Polavaram, lack of employment opportunities for the youth, and inadequate support for farmers. Concluding her criticism, she questioned the actions of Modi, warning against becoming a “kedi” or someone untrustworthy.

Sharmila also brought up Modi’s promise of special category status for Andhra Pradesh during his visit to Tirupati, expressing disappointment over unfulfilled commitments and condemning the BJP as a party of “kedis.” She criticized leaders like Babu and Jagananna for supporting the BJP, suggesting that they, too, would be labeled as “kedis” for affiliating with the party that has not delivered on its promises.
