Hyderabad: YS Sharmila Reddy, the President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress, has filed a complaint with the cybercrime police in Hyderabad, alleging a “malicious” social media campaign against her. In her complaint, Sharmila accused individuals of posting messages with the intent to intimidate her and tarnish her reputation on various social media platforms, including YouTube.

Two cases have been registered by the cybercrime police based on Sharmila’s complaint, filed through her husband Anil Kumar. Sharmila, who recently assumed the role of President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), expressed that since embarking on her district tours, she and her supporters have been targeted by certain individuals.

She cited derogatory comments made against her and urged the police to take action against the offenders, naming eight individuals in her complaint, including some residing abroad. Sharmila had previously criticized leaders of the YSR Congress Party for making personal attacks against her following her affiliation with the Congress party.
