Political dynamics are shifting in Andhra Pradesh amid ongoing elections, with several leaders and parties undergoing changes, potentially altering the equations in many constituencies. In a significant development, Yanamala Krishnudu of Tuni constituency in Kakinada district shocked the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) by announcing his departure from the party. Krishnudu declared his intention to support the victory of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Tuni and disclosed his plan to join the party in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday.
Notably, Krishnudu is the brother of former minister Yanamala Ramakrishna, and both have been managing the Tuni Assembly constituency, albeit with simmering differences between them for some time. These differences escalated when Krishnudu, who had previously contested from Tuni and lost, sought a party ticket for the current elections, only to be sidelined in favor of Ramakrishna’s daughter, Divya. Discontent with the party leadership’s decision and sidelined from party activities, Krishnudu recently engaged in discussions with YSRCP leaders, leading to his decision to switch parties and join the YSRCP.
