Vijayawada: Today, YS Sharmila is set to be sworn in as the APCC chief, and party activists are actively engaged in preparing grand arrangements to extend a warm welcome to her in Vijayawada. Prior to this, on Saturday, YS Sharmila visited YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya, where she offered a prayer at her father’s grave. During the visit, she draped a Congress scarf at the memorial and spent some time in prayer. Accompanying her were prominent Congress leaders including KVP Ramachandra Rao, Raghuveera Reddy, Sailajanath, and Tulasi Reddy.
Notably, former Minister Ahmadullah officially joined the Congress in the presence of Sharmila at Idupulapaya. Reflecting on her father’s commitment to the Congress party and its principles, Sharmila emphasized YSR’s unwavering dedication to the party’s values. She expressed concerns about the diminishing distinction between secularism and feudalism, along with a lack of respect for the constitution, emphasizing the need to restore these essential values for the country.
