While Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 continues to rule the box office all over the nation with its strong run even after the second weekend, the attention of moviegoers will now shift towards the next big season – Sankranti 2025 during which Tollywood will witness multiple big-ticket releases. Among all, Ram Charan’s much anticipated pan-India film Game Changer will have more attention because of its huge canvas and the big names involved.
Game Changer release will offer a big litmus test for Ram Charan because this will be his first solo outing in three years after attaining pan-India popularity with Rajamouli’s RRR. The stakes are very high and there are mammoth expectations on the film as top-league director Shankar Shanmugam is at the helm. Box office wise, Game Changer will have a big milestones to achieve in different territories.
While Allu Arjun proved his pan-India calibre with Pushpa 2, NTR did manage to impress to some extent with Devara. Prabhas is sitting atop comfortably with his undiminished box office clout. Now, all eyes will be on Ram Charan with Game Changer.
Game Changer will need to surpass big numbers in order to achieve break even status. In North America, the political thriller will need to amass more than $ 5 Million mark. Given the current trend, it should be a cake walk for Charan and Shankar. But, the film will need to get positive talk to sustain beyond the first weekend and achieve the target. As Shankar’s recent film Indian 2 tanked heavily, it is not going to be an easy task. Moreover, there will massive competition during the festival season.
In Telugu States, Game Changer will need to perform extremely well because of the huge pre-release business. The film will need to collect a minimum in the range of 160- 175 Crores share from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana territories to be termed as a hit film.
Trade analysts are eagerly waiting to see how well can Charan’s popularity attract crowds for Game Changer in North circuits. There is so-so buzz so far and the theatrical trailer might spike the expectations a bit further. Given than a film like Devara collected more than 50 Crores net in Bollywood, Game Changer should be targeting the 100 Crore mark in North India.
We have to wait till January 10th to find out if Charan can able to cross these milestones and achieve success with Game Changer.
