Akkineni Akhil, the third generation actor from the illustrious Akkineni family of Tollywood, is struggling like no other star kid. This is because he failed to live up to the high expectations multiple times in his career. Even after completing a decade as an actor, Akhil hasn’t yet been able to make a strong impact at the box office. Despite trying different genres ranging from romantic thrillers to action entertainers, Akhil failed to score the elusive hit that is required to give a much needed filip to his career.
After his last outing Agent sank at the box office and left him with much ignominy, Akhil went into incognito mode and hasn’t made any announcement regarding his next move till now. It has already been a year since the release of Agent, but there is no clarity on when his next film will start. Though rumours occasionally emerge that his next film will be made on a staggering budget by UV Creations with a debut director, there is nothing concrete about it so far.
Akhil is completely away from the limelight. There is no talk about his future plans as of now. Star heroes usually line up multiple projects at a time and work on them irrespective of the box office results. But, that is not the case with Akhil. He takes minimum two years gap for each film. From Akhil to Agent, he took ten years for five films. Even if his next film starts in a few more months, it will not see the theatres before the end of 2025.
Surprisingly, Akhil was not seen anywhere even for the special screenings of Akkineni cult classic film ‘Manam’. Sources close to the family revealed that he doesn’t want to come out much until the regular shooting of his next film starts. He is currently involved in the pre-production work silently. He wants to make a strong comeback this time, said the source.
