What happened to Atlee – NTR film ?

Long back, hotshot Tamil director Atlee who delivered hits like Raja Rani, Theri, and Mersal was supposed to helm a Telugu film with NTR in the lead role. Renowned production house Vyjayanthi Movies banner backed this big-budget entertainer. They even paid some advance to Atlee and locked NTR’s dates. However, the project didn’t materialise beyond the discussion stage due to unknown reasons. Later, NTR got busy with his other commitments.

We at Andhrawatch did some digging about this crazy project and reliably heard that Atlee still has the script intact and he is ready to work with NTR in the near future. But, NTR’s busy schedule for the next 3-4 years might not make this project fall into place as expected. Ashwini Dutt still has NTR’s dates and might consider making this project happen sometime later.

Atlee is currently awaiting the release of his much anticipated Bollywood film Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan. The trailer received a thumping response. On the other side, Ashwini Dutt is busy with Project K which is going to be made in two parts and NTR has Neel’s project and War 2 with Hrithik Roshan after completing Devara. So, Atlee’s project might not materialize immediately but will probably happen at a later time.
