Tollywood star Vishnu Manchu’s ambitious pan-India project “Kannappa” has run into an unplanned snag just a few weeks before it was to be released. The big-budget film that has been generating a huge buzz due to the epic level of its ambition and starry cast is now threatening to derail post-production work.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and bankrolled by seasoned actor Mohan Babu, with a huge budget, “Kannappa” is in its final phase of production. Yet, a hard disk with crucial VFX sequences and high-value shots has gone missing—leaving the production house in a state of panic.
According to credible sources, the hard drive contains a few of the most critical scenes of the film, and its loss may have an adverse effect on the post-production timeline. To this effect, Executive Producer Vijay Kumar lodged a complaint with the police, and an outright inquiry is currently being initiated to track down the missing data.
This sudden setback has put pressure on an already constrained schedule, with “Kannappa” due to be released globally on June 27. With a star-studded cast that includes Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, and Mohan Babu, the stakes are high for the movie. The team is working day and night to fix the problem and get the movie to the theatres on schedule.
As the probe continues, fans and industry experts alike are praying for an early solution to what otherwise might result in immense delays or even leaks.
