Former YCP Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy has made it clear that he never interfered in the liquor sales during the previous Jaganmohan Reddy government and only Raj Kasireddy was the one who did all the work. He attended the SIT inquiry held at the Vijayawada City Police Commissioner’s office on Friday on the AP liquor scam.
Later, Vijayasai Reddy told reporters that he was not aware of Raj Kasireddy forming three companies and manufacturing and selling new liquor brands. He said that he had also made it clear to the SIT officials that he was not aware of the role of Rajampet MP Mithun Reddy in it.
However, Vijayasai Reddy explained that he had told the SIT officials on this occasion that only Raj Kasireddy could answer all the questions asked of him. Did Raj Kasireddy take the three companies on lease?, he asked.
Vijayasai Reddy believes that Raj Kasireddy cheated the party and not him. He also said that he answered the questions asked by the higher officials about the matters that happened in the meetings held in Hyderabad and Amaravati.
When asked whether the then CM YS Jagan OSD Krishnamohan Reddy and IAS officer Dhanunjaya Reddy came to these meetings, he said that as far as he remembers, none of them came to these meetings.
He also clarified that he did not know who the money collected by Raj Kasireddy went to. He said that he had told the SIT officials that he had arranged a loan of Rs. 100 crore to Aurobindo for 12 percent interest.
He also said that he had arranged loans to DeCart and Adan companies. One had given Rs. 60 crore and the other Rs. 40 crore. He said that he told the SIT officials that he would come even if he was called again in this investigation.
Refuting the contention that he was No 2 in the YSRCP, when the party was not in power, he made it clear that there would be no Number 2 position in regional parties. He recalled on this occasion that he had taken care of everything when the party was not in power.
He said that after coming to power, he considered number 2 to be an imaginary position. After he was branded as a backstabber before Jaganmohan Reddy, he said that his position had fallen to 2000th position. Vijayasai Reddy expressed his regret that unnecessary criticism was made against him on the channel (Sakshi) he had set up.
He said that he would do agriculture and whatever else. Why are there unnecessary writings against him in the witness media? He deplored why Sakshi media has been giving unnecessary news about him? However, he said he is not aware whether ‘Big Boss’ is behind such propaganda against him.
With regard to the Rajya Sabha by-poll caused due to his resignation, he made it clear that he will be in the ray. But, he said he may again enter politics if people wanted him. He said that he had left the YSRCP as he was hurt by the coterie.
