Versatile Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi continues to expand his popularity beyond Kollywood by signing projects in different languages. After working predominantly in Tamil films for a considerable time in his career, Vijay started accepting meaty roles in Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. He is currently awaiting the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan in which he essayed a significant character.
Meanwhile, the ’96’ actor signed another pan-India biggie. He will be seen in a crucial role in Ram Charan’s next film with Tollywood director Buchi Babu. Reportedly, it is going to be a sports drama that traces the inspiring journey of an amputee sportsman who completes his mission despite facing so many challenges. Though it is a sports-based script, Buchi Babu has infused exciting commercial elements so that the film appeals to all sections of moviegoers.
Vijay Sethupathi is impressed with the character arc narrated by Buchi Babu and gave the nod to join this highly anticipated project. He previously played pivotal roles in SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy and Uppena.
The regular shooting of this untitled film (#RC16) will commence in January next year. AR Rahman will compose the tunes and Mythri Movie Makers will bankroll the film.
