Ever since, fans have been and remain interested and eager about the speculated romance between Tollywood sensations Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. Their on-screen chemistry in hit films such as Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade was undeniable and hence, strong speculation began to spread that their association might also go beyond cinema. The speculations accelerated recently following Rashmika’s hint at marriage at the Sikandar trailer release event and their informal lunch date together.
Throwing oil into the fire, Rashmika’s close relationship with Vijay’s family has become the talk of the town. She was spotted during Diwali celebrations with Vijay’s family and joined the release event of his brother Anand Deverakonda’s new movie. Constantly shared glimpses on social media—be it from Vijay’s house or their holiday pictures—have further engendered fan anticipation. However, both Vijay and Rashmika have always been categorical in saying they are very good friends, never providing a direct confirmation or refutation that they were a couple.
During a recent open-hearted interview, Vijay answered the burning rumors with maturity and dignity. Heaping praise on Rashmika, Vijay stated, “I look forward to working with Rashmika on many more films. She is an outstanding actress and extremely committed to her craft.”
When questioned regarding his opinions on marriage, Vijay revealed, “At present, I’m not thinking of settling down, but I feel I will marry in the future.” On if Rashmika has the traits he is looking for in a partner, he replied rather succinctly, “Anyone who is good at heart is ideal for me.”
While Vijay avoided directly acknowledging any romance, his admiration for Rashmika’s work and personality has definitely kept fans interested and hopeful.
At the same time, professionally, Vijay Deverakonda’s new movie Kingdom is making quite some noise. A romantic action drama directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, it stars Vijay as a warrior and Bhagyashree Borse as the heroine. The film releases in theatres on July 4, and anticipation is running high.
